Grilled Wild Salmon with Maple Glaze
Instructions:
Preheat the Grill:
- Preheat your grill to medium-high heat.
Prepare the Maple Glaze:
- In a small saucepan, combine maple syrup, soy sauce, Dijon mustard, apple cider vinegar, minced garlic, grated ginger, and red pepper flakes if using. Bring to a simmer over medium heat.
- Allow the glaze to simmer for 5-7 minutes or until it thickens slightly. Remove from heat and set aside.
Season and Oil Salmon:
- Season the wild salmon fillets with Rusty Hook Spice Blend.
- Brush both sides of the salmon fillets with olive oil to prevent sticking on the grill.
Grill the Salmon & Lemon Halves:
- Place the salmon fillets on the preheated grill, skin-side down. Grill for 3-4 minutes per side or until the salmon is still slightly pink in the middle (medium temperature).
- During the last 2 minutes of cooking, brush the maple glaze over the salmon, allowing it to caramelize.
- Place Lemon halves on grill flesh side down for 3-4 minutes, (grilling the lemons adds flavor and will help to release the lemon juice when squeezed over the salmon).
Serve:
- Transfer the grilled wild salmon to a serving platter.
- Drizzle any remaining maple glaze over the top.
- Garnish with chopped fresh tarragon and grilled lemon halves.
Enjoy:
- Enjoy your Grilled Wild Salmon with Maple Glaze alongside your favorite side dishes, such as cous cous, roasted vegetables, or a fresh green salad.
- This recipe delivers a perfect balance of smoky, grilled goodness and sweet maple glaze, enhancing the natural flavors of wild salmon. It’s a quick and delicious way to showcase the richness of wild-caught fish with a touch of sweet and savory goodness.
